Singapore and Asian Schools Math Olympiad 2025: The SASMO (Singapore and Asian Schools Math Olympiad) 2025 is a prominent Math competition in Asia featuring numerous participants from various countries.

SAMSO is organized by the Singapore International Math Contests Centre (SIMCC) and supported by the Singapore Scholastic Trust and SASMO Advisory Council (SAC). SASMO assists students in improving their Math skills, cultivating higher-level thinking skills, and becoming accustomed to international contests.
SASMO Exam 2025 is going to be held on 5th April 2025 (Saturday) for the PW Registered candidates between 4 to 6 pm. Top achievers will be awarded Gold (8%), Silver (12%), and Bronze (20%) medals. Students need to be aware of the exam's format, duration, types of questions, and content areas to achieve a better ranking in the exam. Singapore and Asian Schools Math Olympiad 2025 aim to stimulate students' hidden cognitive skills, creating elevated benchmarks that not only improve their academic mathematics proficiency but also cultivate their higher-order thinking skills (HOTS). Founded in 2006, the SASMO International Math Olympiad is recognized as one of the leading math contests in Asia. By 2019, it had attracted over 30,000 contestants from 21 nations, and by 2021, it had grown to encompass over 35 nations and regions.

SASMO Awards & Benefits

Following are SASMO Awards & Benefits candidates enjoy after securing higher marks in the Singapore and Asian Schools Math Olympiad Competition.

Perfect Score Award: Contestants who attain a perfect score in the SASMO competition will be granted a Perfect Score Award and a $100 voucher. In the uncommon situation where there are over 50 perfect scorers, the $5000 prize will be shared equally among all perfect scorers.

Gold, Silver, and Bronze Awards: The leading 40% of SASMO participants will be presented with certificates and medals. Specifically, the top 8% will receive a Gold Certificate and medal, the following 12% will be given a Silver certificate and medal, and the next 20% will be recognized with a bronze certificate and medal 1.

Certificates for All Participants: Every participant in the SASMO competition will obtain certificates acknowledging their participation.

SASMO 2025 Registration

Students have a couple of choices for taking part in SASMO: they may sign up either as individuals or via their schools. Schools provide registration forms to applicants, and individual students have the option to register online using the official portal . Students individually can register at https://olympiadindia.in/sasmo2025/To Register candidates need to visit the official website  . Use the menu bar option to register your new membership and fill all your details required. A link is send to the email id, Click on the link in the email to verify and activate your account. Once this is done, it will take around 15 minutes for the system to activate your default student account. You will be able to login using your newly created username/email address and password.

Singapore and Asian Schools Math Olympiad Eligibility

  • Grade Level: Students from Grade 1 to Grade 12 are eligible to participate.
  • School Enrollment: Students from private and public schools can participate, and home-schooled students are also eligible
  • No Prior Qualification Needed: There are no qualification exams needed. Registration is all that is required to participate.
  • Residency: Only students who are residents of Singapore may participate as individual candidates

SASMO 2025 Exam Pattern

SASMO is open to all Primary 1 to 6, Secondary 1 to 4 students and Junior College 1 to 2 (Grade 1 to 11/12 (JC)  students from International schools). Mode of Examination will be Online and is conducted in Bahasa, English and Chinese Language. The duration of the SASMO Examination is 90 minutes for all grades. Each level has a differentiated paper and contains 25 questions within 2 sections:

Section A: 15 Multiple Choice Questions (2 points for each correct answer; 0 point for each unanswered question; deduct 1 point for each wrong answer)

Section B: 10 Non-routine Questions (4 points for each correct answer; no penalty for incorrect responses

Total: 85 points (To ensure that participants do not receive negative scores, each student begins with 15 bonus points.)
