Original documents are also checked during Document Verification (DV). If any information does not match the uploaded documents, the candidature may be cancelled.

For account creation, you need the following RRB ALP identity proof documents:
Aadhaar Card: Strongly recommended for DigiLocker-based identity verification
Voter ID Card
Driving Licence
PAN Card
Passport
School/College Photo ID (if still studying)
Government Employee ID (if working in a government organisation)
Note: Candidates who verify identity through Aadhaar will face fewer checks at later stages. Those using alternate IDs will face stricter scrutiny at every stage.
The following are the RRB ALP required documents for registration on the official RRB portal:
Active personal mobile number (for OTP)
Valid personal email ID (for OTP)
Aadhaar number (for fee refund via Aadhaar-seeded bank account)
Details of a valid bank account linked to Aadhaar (for examination fee refund)
Do not use someone else's mobile number or email ID. These details cannot be changed after account creation.
The RRB ALP photo signature document requirements are different from those in older RRB notifications. Read them carefully.
You do not upload a pre-existing photo.
A live photograph is captured through your webcam or front camera during the application.
Wear dark-coloured clothing (not white).
Do not wear a cap, mask, or spectacles during the live photo capture.
Your face must be clearly visible and centred within the frame.
Upload a scanned copy of your signature in JPG/JPEG format.
Use a black ink pen on white paper.
Write in running/cursive handwriting only – block or capital letters are not accepted.

Image dimensions: Minimum 140 × 60 pixels
Resolution: Minimum 100 DPI
The RRB ALP educational documents required depend on your qualification. The post of ALP requires one of the following:
Matriculation/SSLC + ITI certificate in a relevant trade (Fitter, Electrician, Electronics Mechanic, Turner, Machinist, Wireman, Mechanic Motor Vehicle, etc.) from NCVT/SCVT recognised institutions
Matriculation/SSLC + Course Completed Act Apprenticeship in the relevant trade
Matriculation/SSLC + 3-year Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Automobile Engineering
Degree in Engineering in the above disciplines (also acceptable in lieu of Diploma)
Important: The certificate must have a date of issue. If the date is after the closing date of the CEN, submit consolidated mark sheets with the date of the result declaration.
Candidates awaiting final results are not eligible to apply.
The RRB ALP caste certificate documents must be in the prescribed format given in the CEN annexures. Here is what each category needs:
Caste certificate issued by a competent authority (District Magistrate, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Revenue Officer of Tehsildar rank or above, etc.)
Must be valid on the closing date of application (14 June 2026)
OBC-NCL certificate issued on or after 01 April 2026 but not later than the closing date
Must specifically state that the candidate does not belong to the Creamy Layer
Self-declaration in Annexure-II A format is also required at DV
Income and Asset Certificate issued by District Magistrate, Revenue Officer (Tehsildar rank or above), or Sub-Divisional Officer
Must be valid for financial year 2025–26
Family annual income must be below Rs. 8 Lakh
Note: EBC (Economically Backward Class) candidates need an income certificate for fee concession only – not for reservation.
Certain candidates pay a reduced fee of Rs. 250/-. They must carry the following at DV:

Annexure-VIII B: Self Screening Medical Declaration (Part-B), signed by an Eye Specialist
Certificates are accepted only from Central/State Government Hospitals or Medical Colleges
Candidates who have undergone LASIK or any other corrective eye surgery are not eligible for the ALP post.
Ex-Servicemen candidates must submit the following at DV:
Annexure-VII A: Certificate from Commanding Officer (for candidates still serving on the closing date)
Annexure-VII B: Self-declaration regarding civil employment under Ex-Servicemen quota
Discharge Certificate (for already released candidates)
SC and ST candidates applying for a free Sleeper Class Railway Pass must upload:
Scanned copy of their SC/ST certificate in PDF format
File size: less than 400 KB
Must be the latest and valid certificate on the closing date
