Reserved category candidates (OBC, SC, ST) who do not possess a valid Central Government certificate can still apply for railway posts. They must fill out the application form under the Unreserved (UR) / General category. They would not be able to get any benefits like age relaxation and application fee relaxation for the reserved categories.

For example, if the last date to apply for a position is March 31, 2026, the candidate's OBC-NCL certificate must have been issued on or after April 1, 2025.
