Applicants must fulfil all age limits and educational criteria as on the closing date of application. The candidates must meet the RRC ECOR Apprentice Eligibility 2026 to participate in the recruitment drive.
Educational & Technical Qualifications:
General Trades: Must have passed Matriculation (Class 10th) under the 10+2 system with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks from a recognised Board. Candidates must also possess an ITI certificate in the relevant trade affiliated to NCVT or SCVT.
Laboratory Technician (Pathology): Must have passed 12th standard (10+2 system) with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, securing at least 50% marks in both 10th and 12th standards.
Age Limit (as on 15/09/2026):
Minimum Age: 15 years
Maximum Age: 24 years
Age Relaxations:
SC / ST Candidates: Upper age limit relaxed by 5 years
OBC Candidates: Upper age limit relaxed by 3 years
PwBD Candidates: Upper age limit relaxed by 10 years
Ex-Servicemen: Extended service period plus 3 years
RRC ECOR Apprentice Selection Process 2026 will be conducted through a fair, merit-based process.
Merit List Preparation: The merit list will be prepared based on the percentage of marks obtained in Matriculation (10th class) with a minimum of 50% marks. Marks of all subjects will be counted for calculating the total percentage.
Tie-Breaking Rule: If two or more candidates score equal marks, the candidate with an older age will get preference. If dates of birth are also the same, the candidate who passed the 10th class exam earlier will be preferred.
No Written Test: Selection is conducted without any written exam or interview.
Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification at East Coast Railway Headquarters in Bhubaneswar. Originals of all mark sheets, certificates, and ID proof must be shown.
Medical Fitness: Final selection is subject to clearance of a physical medical test from an authorised government doctor.
Apprentices receive monthly financial assistance during their training period.
Stipend: Selected candidates will get a monthly stipend as per standard rates fixed by the Apprentices Act, 1961 and Railway Board directives.
Accommodation: No hostel facility or accommodation allowance is provided by the railway administration. Trainees must arrange their own housing during training.
No Employment Guarantee: Completion of apprentice training does not give any right to automatic regular job placement in Indian Railways. However, trained apprentices (CCAA) get a 20% preference quota during regular Level-1 Railway recruitments.
