RRC NFR Apprentice Eligibility Criteria 2026: Age, Qualification & Rules

Before submitting the application form, candidates should carefully check whether they meet the eligibility conditions prescribed by the Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC), Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR). 

The eligibility criteria determine who can apply for the apprenticeship and include requirements related to age, educational qualification, reservation benefits, medical fitness, and document verification.

Only candidates fulfilling all the prescribed conditions on the closing date of the application will be considered eligible for engagement as Act Apprentices.

RRC NFR Apprentice Age Limit

Candidates must satisfy the prescribed age criteria as on the closing date mentioned in the official notification.

• Minimum Age: 15 years

• Maximum Age: 24 years

RRC NFR Apprentice Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess the required educational qualifications on or before the closing date of the application. The qualification requirements vary depending on the trade.

Note: Candidates awaiting their results or those who do not possess the prescribed qualification and ITI certificate on the notification date are not eligible to apply.

RRC NFR Apprentice Reservation & PwBD Criteria

Reservation benefits are provided according to the applicable Government of India and Railway Board guidelines.

• SC/ST and OBC (NCL) candidates claiming reservation must upload valid caste certificates in the prescribed format.

• EWS candidates must submit a valid Income and Asset Certificate issued in the prescribed format.

• Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) must produce a disability certificate issued by the competent medical authority.

• Horizontal reservation of 4% is available for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), while 10% horizontal reservation is provided for Ex-Servicemen as per the applicable Railway Board guidelines.

• EWS candidates claiming reservation must submit a valid Income and Asset Certificate issued in the prescribed format. 

• Original certificates will be verified during document verification.

Documents Required for RRC NFR Apprentice Eligibility Verification

Candidates should keep the following documents ready while submitting the application and during document verification:

• Class 10 mark sheet and pass certificate

• Class 12 mark sheet and certificate (where applicable)

• ITI/National Trade Certificate (NCVT/SCVT) or provisional certificate

• SC/ST/OBC/EWS certificate (if applicable)

• PwBD certificate (if applicable)

• Ex-Servicemen certificate (if applicable)

• Medical fitness certificate in the prescribed format
