CBT 2 is the second stage of the Senior Clerk Cum Typist Selection Process. Each correct answer carries 1 mark where there is a negative marking of 1/3rd mark for every wrong answer. The questions are objective-type multiple-choice questions (MCQs). The exam is conducted online.

For the posts of Senior Clerk cum Typist a Typing Skill Test (TST) will be conducted as a qualifying examination. The marks obtained in this test will not be considered for the final merit list. Candidates, equal to eight times the number of vacancies in each category will be shortlisted for the TST.
Candidates must type at least 30 words per minute (WPM) in English or 25 WPM in Hindi on a Personal Computer without any editing tools or spell check facility. For those opting to type in Hindi, Kruti Dev and Mangal fonts will be available for the test.
Candidates with permanent disabilities (40% or more) due to Blindness/Low Vision, Cerebral Palsy, or Locomotor Disability may be exempted from the typing test. Such candidates must upload a Typing Skill Test Exemption Certificate, issued by a Competent Medical Board, on the respective RRB website before the test.
Only candidates who qualify in the Typing Skill Test or are exempted PwBD candidates will be considered for the final merit list. The merit ranking will be based on their performance in the 2nd Stage CBT.
Candidates must type a given passage within 10 minutes. The test is conducted on a computer. Typing speed and accuracy are both considered. Candidates can choose to type in either English or Hindi. Errors beyond a certain percentage may lead to disqualification.
Candidates who qualify for the Typing Test are called for Document Verification (DV).
