Traffic Assistant Selection Process: The Traffic Assistant position in the Indian Railways is a non-technical, operational post responsible for managing and regulating train movements to ensure their safe and timely flow within the station and yard limits. Recruitment for this role is handled by the Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) through the Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) examination.

The complete Traffic Assistant selection process is multi-staged, usually involving two Computer-Based Tests (CBT 1 and CBT 2), followed by a mandatory Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT), and finally, Document Verification and Medical Examination. Successful candidates are posted at railway stations across India.

Traffic Assistant Selection Process CBT 1 is the first screening test. Its marks are only used to choose candidates for CBT 2 and do not count in the final merit list. Candidates get questions from the General Awareness, Mathematics, and Reasoning sections to solve in 90 minutes.

 Traffic Assistant Exam Process CBT 2

CBT 2 is the main examination. The marks obtained in this stage carry 70% of the marks' weightage in the final merit calculation. The Traffic Assistant exam process covers two tests, i.e. CBT 1 and then, shortlisted candidates appear in CBT 2. It includes 120 questions to solve in 90 minutes.

 Traffic Assistant Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)

The CBAT is a mandatory qualifying test that measures your suitability for the job. It carries 30% weightage in the final merit calculation. This test will be organised by the authority after CBT 2, as mentioned in the traffic assistant selection process.

 Traffic Assistant Document Verification Round

Candidates who pass the CBT 2 and CBAT stages are called for the Document Verification (DV). This stage involves checking all original documents, such as educational certificates, identity proof, and category certificates, to confirm they match the information provided in the application.

RRB Traffic Assistant Medical Examination

After successful document verification, candidates must pass a thorough Medical Examination by the Railway authorities. For the Traffic Assistant post, candidates must meet strict eyesight and physical fitness standards (usually A-2 medical standard) to ensure they are fit for duty in an operational environment. Medical Examination is an important stage in the RRB Traffic Assistant Selection Process. The purpose is to check that the candidate to medically fit to perform the job role in the railways department. 

RRB Traffic Assistant Final Merit List

The final list of selected candidates is made only after a candidate has qualified in all the stages. The final score for the merit list is calculated using the formula: 70% marks of CBT 2 Marks + 30% of CBAT T-Score. Candidates have to pass all the rounds mentioned in the Traffic Assistant selection process. They can make their way to the final merit list. Then, they get the appointment for the past and participate in the training round.

No, there is no negative marking in the Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT). However, there is a negative marking of $1/3$rd mark in both CBT 1 and CBT 2.
