  2. Grade Requirement : Students must secure a grade higher than E in all subjects to be declared as having passed the exam. If a student gets grade E1 or E2 in any subject, they will be considered fail.
  3. Internal Assessment : To obtain a pass certificate, students must also meet the internal assessment requirements. Failure to achieve a grade higher than E in internal assessments may result in withholding the external examination result for up to one year.
  4. Compartment Exams : If a student fails in two subjects , they must appear for the compartment exams in those subjects. However, if a student fails in three or more subjects , they are not eligible for the compartment exam and will have to repeat the year.
  5. Merit Certificates : CBSE awards merit certificates to the top 0.1% of candidates in each subject who meet the passing criteria. Merit certificates will be issued to the candidates who score the highest marks in a particular subject.
