In mathematics, factorisation or factoring is defined as breaking or decomposition of an entity (for example, number, matrix, or polynomial) into another product, or common factors, which gives an original number or matrix when repeated together, etc. You will learn this lesson in your lower classes from 6 to 8.
This page consist of subjective questions worksheet for chapter Factorisation of class 7 Maths with detail solutions. Do follow all Class 7 Maths Worksheet prepared by expert faculty members of Physics Wallah.

Q1 . Find the H.C.F. of
Solution:
1. H.C.F. of 6ab 2 and 9a 2 b 2
= (H.C.F of 6 and 9) x (H.C.F. of ab 2 and a 2 b 2 )
2. H.C.F. of 15x 2 y 3 z 4 ,20x3 y 4 z 5 and 25x4 y5z 6
= (H.C.F of 15, 20 and 25) x (x 2 y3z 4, x 3 y 4 z5 and x 4 y 5 z 6 )
= 5x 2 y 3 z 4
Q2. Find the H.C.F. of
Solution:
1. H.C.F. of 6ab 2 and 9a 2 b 2
= (H.C.F of 6 and 9) x (H.C.F. of ab 2 and a 2 b 2 )
= 3 ab 2
2. H.C.F. of 15x 2 y 3 z 4 ,20x 3 y 4 z 5 and 25x 4 y 5 z 6
= 5x 2 y 3 z 4
Q3 . Factorise:
Solution:
1. H.C.F. of 4x 2 y and 12y is 4y
So, 4y is a common factor of each term.
4x 2 y + 12y = 4y(x 2 + 3)
2. H.C.F. of 3a 2 b, 6ab and 24a is 3a
3a 2 b - 6ab -24a = 3a(ab + 2b - 8)
3. H.C.F. of 36a 3 b and 60a 2 bc is 12a 2 b
36a 3 b - 60a 2 bc = 12a 2 b(3a - 5c)
4. H.C.F. of 6xy 2 ,9x 2 y and 24xy is 3xy
6xy 2 + 9x 2 y - 24xy = 3xy(2y + 3x - 8)
Q4 . Factorise:
Solution:
1. 4x(a + 3b) - 7 y(a + 3b) = (a + 3b) (4x - 7y)
2. a(a 3 + 2) - 2(a 3 + 2) = (a 3 + 2)(a - 2)
3. 9(x + 2y) 3 + 6(x + 2y) 2 = 3(x + 2y) 2 [3(x + 2 y) + 2]
= 3(x + 2y) 2 (3x +6y + 2 )
4. a(a - b) 3 + 3a 2 b(a - b) = a(a - b) [(a - b) 2 + 3ab]
= a(a - b)(a 2 - 2ab + b 2 + 3ab)
= a(a - b)(a 2 + ab + b 2 )
