The Delhi government has postponed the final computerised draw of lots for admissions under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and Disadvantaged Group (DG) categories in private unaided recognised schools for the 2025–26 academic year. The Directorate of Education’s Private School Branch announced the change through an official circular.
The draw, earlier scheduled for 19 November 2025, has been deferred due to administrative reasons. No new date has been issued yet, leaving many parents waiting for the updated timeline.
The circular, released from the Old Secretariat and approved by the Competent Authority, notes that the postponement was unavoidable and acknowledges the inconvenience caused to applicants and schools. The Directorate has stated that a revised schedule will be uploaded on the official website once finalised.
The EWS–DG admission process in Delhi is conducted through a centralised online system managed by the Directorate of Education. Families apply each year for entry-level classes such as nursery, kindergarten, and Class 1 in private unaided recognised schools. Final seat allotment is done through a computerised draw to ensure transparency.
Parents have been advised to keep checking the Directorate’s official website for updates, while schools have been asked to follow official notifications for the revised date. Although the Directorate has not specified the nature of the administrative reasons for the delay, officials have confirmed that the new schedule will be announced soon.
Applicants have been reminded to rely solely on official communication from the Delhi government and the Directorate of Education for accurate information regarding EWS–DG admissions for 2025–26.
