The current Chief Minister of Odisha is Mohan Charan Majhi, who took office on June 11, 2024. He is a leader from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the first from the Santal tribe to become Chief Minister of Odisha. Majhi has a long political career, having been elected multiple times from the Keonjhar constituency. He succeeded Naveen Patnaik, who served as Chief Minister for over two decades. Majhi focuses on development and welfare, especially for tribal and rural communities in the state.
