The India Post GDS 2026 Selection Process is completely merit-based and does not include any examination. Key rules include:

• Selection is based on marks obtained in the matriculation (Class 10) exam.

• Marks are calculated up to four decimal accuracy for fairness.

• No extra weightage is given for experience or additional qualifications.

• In case of a tie:

• Older candidates are preferred.

• If still tied, preference follows the order:
