Stages in SSC CGL AEO Selection Process

The selection process for the Assistant Enforcement Officer (AEO) under SSC CGL consists of three main stages. Each of these stages is crucial for securing the position. Below is a detailed breakdown of each stage.

  1. Tier 1 – Computer-Based Test (CBT)
  2. Tier 2 – Computer-Based Test (CBT) with Paper I & Paper II

SSC CGL AEO Selection Process Stage 1: CBT 1

The Tier 1 exam is the first screening stage for SSC CGL. It is a computer-based objective test that assesses candidates on four subjects as provided in the table below. A negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer is there. The exam is qualifying in nature, and marks are not considered for final merit. Candidates must clear the cutoff marks set by SSC for further selection.

SSC CGL AEO Selection Process Stage 2: CBT 2

Candidates who qualify for Tier 1 proceed to Tier 2, which is the most crucial stage in the selection process. SSC CGL Tier 2 consists of paper 1 relevant to the AEO post. Paper I is compulsory for all candidates. There is a negative marking of 1 mark per wrong answer in certain sections of Paper I.

SSC CGL AEO Selection Process Stage 3: Document Verification & Medical Examination

After clearing Tier 2, candidates must undergo the Document Verification (DV) process and a medical examination. The documents required are as follows:

  • Matriculation Certificate (for Date of Birth proof)
  • Educational Qualification Certificates
  • Category Certificate (if applicable)
  • Identity Proof (Aadhar Card, PAN Card, etc.)
  • Disability Certificate (if applicable)

SSC CGL AEO Medical Standards

Candidates must meet the physical and medical standards set by SSC. Once the document verification and medical test are cleared, candidates are selected for the Assistant Enforcement Officer post based on the final merit list.

  • Hearing ability should be normal.
  • Candidates should not have any major physical disability.

SSC CGL AEO Final Selection & Training

Merit List Preparation: The final merit list is prepared based on the performance of the Tier 2 exam. Tier 1 marks contribute to selection for Tier 2, while Tier 2 marks are considered for final ranking.
