In 2025, thousands of government job aspirants across India took to the streets in protest against alleged irregularities and mismanagement in SSC examinations. What began as online murmurs soon turned into a full-fledged national movement. The SSC Protest 2025 became a strong voice of resistance, highlighting the growing frustration of students who feel let down by a system that was meant to offer them fair and transparent opportunities.

Staff Selection Commission is a recognised authority operating in India to conduct CGL, CHSL, CPO, GD, and many more recruitment exams. SSC Selection Post Phase 13 was decided to be conducted from 24th July to 1 August 2025 in different places in India. Candidates got their intimation slips and admit cards for the exam.

They were all set to appear in the exam. However, their dreams turned out to be a nightmare after getting sudden news of exam cancellation from multiple centres in India. Candidates who appeared on the 24th July exam.

They faced several issues like technical glitches, biometric not working, administrative issues, and the absence of staff at the centre. The exams were suddenly cancelled at the two centres. 

  • Pawan Ganga Educational Centre 2: A notice was published on SSC’s website informing that the exam at Pawan Ganga Educational Centre 2 will be cancelled from 24th July to 1st August 2025. New exam dates will be updated soon. 

  • Educasa International Hubballi: Candidates who have reached the Educasa International Hubballi to appear in the exam. They got to know that 24 July 2025’s shift 1 and shift 3 exams were cancelled at the centre. SSC will inform the candidates about the new dates. The reason cited for the exam cancellation was technical and administrative issues.

What is the Government and Commission Response on SSC Protest 2025?

The Government and Commission are trying to address the issues of the candidates raised on SSC Protest 2025. The SSC Chairman admitted that the technical and administrative issues happened while conducting SSC Selection Post Phase 13 exam 2025. Protestors met the Union Minister to raise their concerns regarding SSC’s exam conducting process. The tender provided to a blacklisted Eduequity company to conduct the SSC exam.  

SSC Chairman's Official Statement 

SSC Chairman Mr. Gopalkrishnan finally broke his silence. He denied any plans to cancel the entire Phase 13 exam but admitted that technical glitches had occurred at several centres.

He stated that a re-exam for genuinely affected candidates was under consideration.

More importantly, the private vendor agency hired to conduct the exam is now under investigation. The vendor’s performance and accountability are being reviewed by SSC and the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).

 

Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh Official statement 

SSC Protest news came when a group of student representatives met Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh. This was the first formal interaction between protesting students and senior government leadership. The Minister made the following announcements:

  • A re-exam will be conducted for students who were genuinely affected.

  • Challenge fees will be refunded for disputed answer key evaluations.

  • The exam grievance system will be reviewed and improved.

This meeting was widely shared on social media with the label Students Meet Union Minister. It showed that the voices of students were finally being heard at the highest levels.

Demands of SSC Protestors 

The SSC Exam Protect movement has taken on a larger meaning. It’s not just about retaking an exam. This is about demanding dignity, fairness, and respect for the years of effort students put into preparing for government jobs.

Students say the current system doesn’t value their time, energy, or dedication. They are demanding reforms in how central recruitment exams are conducted across India.

Statements and temporary fixes are no longer enough. Students want a permanent system that:

  • SSC exams should be conducted fairly. 

  • Refund of Rs. 100 challenge fee.

  • SSC results should be announced in time. 

  • Consider the students' opinions on conducting the exams.

What’s Next?

Candidates, along with the teachers, have decided to gather in Jantar Mantar, Delhi, on 6th August 2025. The motive is simple: to expose SSC. It’s time to bring revolutionary changes in India’s examination system through the SSC Protect 2025. This will be a silent protest against the long-ignored issues from SSC’s end.  

SSC Protest 2025 is not only to convey the demands of the candidates to the SSC and the government.
