इस खण्ड में विद्यार्थियों की लेखन क्षमता का आकलन किया जाता है। इसमें निम्नलिखित विषय शामिल हैं:

• आधुनिक विषय पर लगभग 200 शब्दों में निबंध लेखन (दिए गए संकेत बिंदुओं के आधार पर) – 6 अंक

• संवाद लेखन / पत्र लेखन – 5 अंक

• प्रतिवेदन (रिपोर्ट) लेखन (लगभग 100 शब्द) – 4 अंक

खण्ड (ख): व्यावहारिक व्याकरण

इस खण्ड में हिन्दी व्याकरण के विभिन्न विषयों से प्रश्न पूछे जाते हैं। इसमें निम्नलिखित टॉपिक्स शामिल हैं:

• उपसर्ग-प्रत्यय, विशेषण तथा विशेषणों पर लिंग एवं वचन का प्रभाव – 3 अंक
