BSSC Field Assistant Eligibility Criteria 2025

BSSC Field Assistant Selection Process 2025

The BSSC Field Assistant Selection Process 2025 has three steps: a Preliminary Exam, a Main Exam, and document verification. Candidates need to pass each step to be considered for one of the 201 Field Assistant jobs in the Agriculture Department. Applications are open until 21 May 2025.

Stage 1: Preliminary Examination

All applicants who meet the eligibility criteria and submit their applications between 25 April and 21 May 2025 are eligible to take the Preliminary Examination. This exam is objective-type, with 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) covering General Studies, General Science & Mathematics, and Mental Ability (Comprehension, Logic, Reasoning). Each question carries 4 marks, and there is negative marking of 1 mark for each incorrect answer.

The exam has a total of 600 marks and lasts for 2 hours and 15 minutes. It is conducted in both Hindi and English. Candidates are shortlisted for the Main Examination in a 1:5 ratio, meaning five times the number of vacancies per category. If more than 40,000 applications are received, the Preliminary Examination acts as a screening test.

Stage 2: Main Examination

Only those candidates who qualify in the Preliminary Examination are eligible to appear for the Main Examination. A separate notification for the Main Examination will be released, with detailed information on the exam pattern. The Main Examination follows a similar structure to the Prelims but covers more in-depth material. It remains objective in nature and tests candidates on General Studies, General Science & Mathematics, and Mental Ability. The final merit list is based on the combined scores from both the Preliminary and Main examinations.

Stage 3: Document Verification

After successfully clearing the Main Examination, candidates will be called for Document Verification. This process involves verifying the authenticity of candidates' academic certificates, age proof, caste/category certificates (if applicable), and other relevant documents. Only candidates who complete the document verification process will be considered for final appointment.
