The Punjab Police SI Exam comprise three stages to test the suitability of candidates for the role of Sub Inspectors. The written test consists of Paper I, Paper II and Paper III carries questions from a wide range of topics. Paper I will have 100 questions from General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude & Numerical Skills and Punjabi Language Skills worth 400 marks.
Paper II will cover 100 questions from Logical & Analytical Reasoning and Data Interpretation, Digital Literacy & Computer Awareness and English Language Skills having a total of 400 marks. Each question will award 4 marks for correct answers.
Paper III will consist of 50 questions from the Mandatory Qualifying paper of Punjabi Language carries 50 marks. The time duration for Paper I & II will be 2 hours and Paper III spans a duration of 1 hour.
Moreover, Paper III is a qualifying in nature, marks secured in this paper will not be counted in determining the merit. Candidates are required to obtain at least 50% marks to pass this paper.
The negative marking for an incorrect answer in Paper I and in Paper II will be 25% of the marks assigned to a question i.e., 1 mark. There shall be no negative marking for Paper III.

Candidates who pass the written examination will have to undergo Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and Physical Screening Test (PST).
