RAS Selection Process: Important Rules

The RAS Selection Process is governed by a set of important rules that candidates must strictly follow to ensure fair evaluation and eligibility at every stage. These rules outline the criteria for application, examination, and final selection.

  • Firstly, candidates must meet the prescribed eligibility conditions, including age limit, educational qualification, and nationality, as specified in the official notification.

  • Secondly, the selection process consists of multiple stages, such as the Preliminary Examination, Main Examination, and Personal Interview. Candidates are required to qualify each stage separately, as marks from the preliminary stage are generally used only for screening purposes.

  • Another important rule relates to attempt limits and reservations. The number of permissible attempts and age relaxations are provided to candidates belonging to reserved categories as per government norms. Candidates must claim these benefits correctly during the application.

  • Additionally, strict guidelines are enforced regarding exam conduct and discipline. Use of unfair means, impersonation, or violation of examination rules can result in cancellation of candidature and legal action.

  • Finally, the final merit list is prepared based on performance in the Main Examination and Interview, subject to document verification and medical fitness. Only candidates who successfully fulfill all rules and conditions are considered for appointment
