The West Bengal School Service Commission has extended the application deadline for 8,477 Group C and Group D non-teaching posts to December 8, 2025, giving candidates additional time to complete their forms after reports of high traffic and technical issues on the portal. The extension covers clerical, administrative, and support staff roles in government-aided and sponsored schools across the state.
The registration window, which opened on 3 November 2025, will now remain active until 8 December 2025, 5:00 PM. The Commission said the revised timeline will help applicants who were unable to complete submissions during the initial phase.
Exams for the recruitment are tentatively scheduled for January 2026, with Group C written tests likely on 18 January 2026 and Group D on 25 January 2026.
Vacancy Details
WBSSC has announced 8,477 vacancies across both groups. Group C includes posts such as clerks, librarians, and administrative staff, for which some roles may require a skill or computer proficiency test. Group D posts include peons, lab attendants, night guards, and other support staff positions, most of which require candidates to have completed at least Class 8.
Eligibility
Candidates must be between 18 and 40 years of age as of 1 January 2025. Age relaxation applies to reserved categories as per state rules.

Group C: 10th pass for clerical roles; graduate degree for librarian posts.
The application fee is ₹400 for General/OBC/EWS candidates and ₹150 for SC/ST/PH candidates.

Applications must be submitted online through the WBSSC portal. The steps include creating a user account, filling in personal and educational details, uploading required documents, and paying the application fee through digital payment options. Candidates must ensure that all documents, photographs, and signatures meet the prescribed specifications before final submission.
The Commission has advised applicants to complete all steps before the extended deadline of 8 December 2025, 5:00 PM and download the confirmation receipt after submission.
