New Immigration Rules for International Students in the UK : The immigration and international student enrollment regulations of the United Kingdom government have undergone multiple changes. The updated rules for student visas will take effect in January 2024. Post-graduation opportunities and international student visa requirements are expected to be greatly affected by these new laws. Two significant changes to the regulations established by the government affect international students enrolling in UK universities.
The first change will occur in January 2024. Unless students are enrolled in a postgraduate research program, international students in the UK will no longer be able to bring dependents on their student visas. Second, unless students have completed their studies, international students are not allowed to switch to a work route visa after July 17. The UK government released new regulations for international students studying there on July 17, 2023. International students will no longer be allowed to enter the UK on a student visa and bring family with them starting in January 2024. A partner, if married or not, or a child under the age of eighteen, is considered dependent. Students on postgraduate research program visas are the only ones excluded from this change, students are permitted to bring dependents into the UK.Types of Visas

The Tier 4 (General) student visa has been replaced by the student visa. The following are necessary for the student visa:- They are 16 years of age or older (if they are 16 or 17, parental verified approval is required).
- An opportunity to work as a licensed student sponsor has been provided to them.
- They can support you financially and pay for the tuition.
- They can read, write, and communicate in English (with a Secure English Language Test certification).
Child student visa
Student visa Tier 4 (Child) has been replaced by this one. The following are the requirements for the child student visa:- They vary in age from 4 to 17.
- An unconditional offer to study in a UK independent school has been provided to them.
- They are receiving financial assistance to reside in the UK and pay for their education.
- The parent or legal guardian has permitted them to study in the UK.
Short-term study visa
The following are the requirements for the short-term study visa:- They are enrolled in an English language program that lasts up to 11 months, rather than only six.
- They have already paid the £200 visa cost and the approximately £470 healthcare extra.
- They do not intend to work, attend a state-funded school, change courses, or bring family members to the UK while on this visa.
- They do not intend to renew the visa.
Who Do the New Rules Affect?
The student's family's eligibility to stay in the UK remains unchanged if they enroll in a course in the UK before January 1, 2024.
