How to Apply Online for HP TET 2026

Follow the steps below to apply for the HP TET 2026 

1. Visit the official portal of HPBOSE at hpbose.org.

2. Click on the CET / Vacancy tab in the main menu and select HP TET November 2026.

3. Click on New Registration and complete the form using your Aadhaar number, valid email, and active mobile number.

4. Log in using your generated Application Number and Password.

5. Select your target teaching category (e.g., TGT Arts, JBT, TGT Non-Medical).

6. Upload scanned copies of your passport photo and signature in JPG format.

7. Pay the applicable exam fee through the online payment portal.

8. Submit your form and download the confirmation page for record-keeping.

HP TET 2026 Application Fee 

Candidates must pay the prescribed application fee through net banking, debit card, or credit card during online submission:

• General & Sub-Categories (except PHH): ₹1,200

• OBC / SC / ST / Physically Handicapped (PHH): ₹700

• Late Application Surcharge: Additional ₹600 for submissions between October 4 and October 8, 2026.

HP TET 2026 Eligibility Criteria  

Candidates applying under the HP TET 2026 Notification must meet the minimum academic standards prescribed by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and HPBOSE.

Age Limit

• No Upper Age Limit: There is no maximum age limit for appearing in the Himachal Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test. Age requirements apply only at the time of recruitment by the appointing department per Recruitment and Promotion (R&P) Rules.

Academic Qualifications

• Junior Basic Training (JBT) TET: Senior Secondary (10+2) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed / JBT), or Graduation with a 2-year D.El.Ed.

• TGT (Arts / Non-Medical / Medical): B.A., B.Com, or B.Sc. with at least 50% marks and a 1-year or 2-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), or Senior Secondary (10+2) with 50% marks and a 4-year B.El.Ed. / B.A.Ed. / B.Sc.Ed.

• Language Teachers (Hindi / Sanskrit / Punjabi / Urdu): Graduation with the respective language as an elective subject (50% marks) and a 1-year/2-year B.Ed., or Shastri / Acharya for Sanskrit.

• Special Educator TET: Senior Secondary (10+2) with 50% marks and D.Ed. (Special Education) for Pre-Primary to Class V, or Graduation with 50% marks and B.Ed. (Special Education) for Class VI to XII.

Category Relaxation: A 5% relaxation in minimum educational marks is granted to SC, ST, OBC, and Physically Handicapped (PHH) candidates of Himachal Pradesh domicile.

HP TET 2026 Exam Pattern & Qualifying Marks

The examination comprises 150 objective multiple-choice questions (MCQs) carrying 1 mark each.

• Total Questions: 150 MCQs

• Total Marks: 150 Marks

• Exam Duration: 150 Minutes (2 Hours 30 Minutes)

• Negative Marking: No negative marking for incorrect answers.

• Qualifying Criterion:

• General / Unreserved: 60% marks (90 out of 150 marks).

• SC / ST / OBC / PHH: 55% marks (82 out of 150 marks).
