The HPSC PGT test has a patterned structure that is to evaluate general aptitude as well as subject knowledge in all kinds of disciplines like Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, English, Hindi, History, Mathematics, Physics, Political Science, Commerce, Economics, Geography, Home Science, Sociology, and Urdu.
The recruitment process has three stages: a Screening Test, a Subject Knowledge Test, and an Interview. The Screening Test is objective, consisting of 100 questions. The Subject Knowledge Test is descriptive, being entirely on the selected subject with 150 marks, and has the highest weighting in the final selection. The Last step is an Interview, which again assesses the candidate's aptness for the teaching job. There is no negative marking.
