HTET Certificate Validity: The Board of School Education, Haryana has announced the revision of HTET Certificate validity. As per the latest notice, Haryana TET Certificate validity has been increased for a lifetime. Earlier, the validity for the TET Certificate was for seven years. However, now, the validity has been increased to par with the CTET certificate. Additionally, the authorities have also mentioned that the certificate issued earlier will be upgraded with the revised eligibility.
HTET 2024 Overview

HTET Certificate Validity Extended
The Haryana Government School Education Department has announced a significant change in the validity of the Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET) certificate. Effective from August 6, 2024, the HTET Certificate validity will now hold lifetime validity. This development aligns Haryana with the national trend of lifetime validity for Teacher Eligibility Tests (TETs), which was adopted by the central government in 2021.
Previously, the HTET certificate's validity was limited to seven years. With this change, candidates who have cleared the HTET exam will be eligible to apply for PRT, TGT, and PGT teaching positions in Haryana schools without the requirement of retaking the exam.
HTET Certificate Validity 2024
The Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET), conducted by the Board of Secondary Education Haryana (BSEH), is a mandatory qualification for aspiring teachers in the state. Designed to assess a candidate's eligibility for teaching positions at the Primary (PRT), Trained Graduate (TGT), and Post Graduate (PGT) levels, the HTET has historically required successful candidates to renew their certificates every seven years.Key Points Related to the HTET Certificate Validity
Candidates are advised to carefully consider the following points concerning the recently extended validity of HTET certificates:- Validity of Expired Certificates: HTET or STET certificates that expired prior to the notification dated August 6, 2024, will continue to be valid for teacher recruitment processes initiated after this date.
- No Invalidation of Expired Certificates: Certificates that expired before the notification's issuance will not be rendered invalid.
- Eligibility for Recruitment: Candidates can utilise their expired certificates to apply for teaching positions advertised after the notification due to HTET Certificate validity.
- Unrestricted Application Opportunities: The extension aims to eliminate barriers for candidates possessing expired certificates in applying for teaching roles in newly announced recruitments.
- Multiple Exam Attempts Permitted: There is no restriction on the number of times a candidate can attempt the HTET exam.
- Option to Improve Scores: Individuals who have already qualified for the HTET may retake the exam to potentially achieve a higher score.
- Validity Based on Result Declaration: In cases where HTET results are delayed or revised, the HTET Certificate validity will commence from the official result declaration date.
HTET Minimum Qualifying Marks
To successfully pass the HTET 2024 exam, candidates must attain a minimum score of 60% of the total marks, which equates to 90 out of 150. However, the Haryana government has implemented category-specific qualifying criteria. Candidates belonging to the General and OBC categories are required to secure a minimum of 90 marks to qualify. In contrast, SC/PH candidates hailing from Haryana can qualify by obtaining 82 marks, representing a 55% pass percentage. Notably, SC/PH candidates from other states must adhere to the same qualifying standard as the General and OBC categories, mandating a score of 90 marks.| Category | Passing Marks | Passing percentage |
