UP Special TET 2026 Notification Out: The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC), Prayagraj, has released the UP Special TET 2026 Notification on 3 September 2026. It is mandatory for teachers working in Uttar Pradesh schools to appear for and pass the UP Special TET exam. The application process will begin from 5 September 2026 to 4 October 2026. UP Special TET exam has been scheduled for 3 November 2026.

UP Special TET 2026 is an eligibility test conducted for teachers and assistant teachers currently working in primary and upper primary schools across Uttar Pradesh, as well as Special Educators for Children with Special Needs (CWSN). UP Special TET Exam Date 2026

UP Special TET Exam Date 2026 has been announced in the notification. The written examination for UP Special TET 2026 is scheduled to be held on 3 November 2026. The commission will set up examination centers at various district headquarters across Uttar Pradesh. Information regarding the allotted district will be shared 10 days before the exam, while full admit card details with the exact center location will be available on the portal 3 days before the exam date.

UP Special TET 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility conditions depend on the post and teaching level:

• Primary Level Teachers (Class 1 to 5): All teachers currently serving in state-run, local body, or state-aided primary schools are eligible.

• Upper Primary Level Teachers (Class 6 to 8): All teachers currently serving in upper primary/junior high schools under state administration, local bodies, or aided institutions are eligible.

• Special Educators CWSN (Primary Level): Candidates working on contract/daily wages in primary schools must hold a Graduation degree along with a D.Ed. in Special Education (or equivalent qualification) recognised by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), plus an active CRR registration number.

• Special Educators CWSN (Upper Primary Level): Candidates working on contract/daily wages in upper primary schools must possess a Graduation degree along with a B.Ed. in Special Education (or equivalent qualification) recognised by RCI, plus an active CRR registration number.

• Age Limit: For Special Educators working on contract/daily wages, the maximum age limit is 60 years as on the exam date (3 November 2026).

UP Special TET Syllabus 2026

UP Special TET Syllabus 2026 includes the subject-specific and teaching-related subjects. 

• Primary Level Syllabus: Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I (Hindi), Language II (English/Urdu/Sanskrit), Mathematics, and Environmental Studies.

• Upper Primary Level Syllabus: Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I (Hindi), Language II (English/Urdu/Sanskrit), and Subject-Specific section (Mathematics and Science for Science teachers; Social Studies for Social Science teachers).

UP Special TET 2026 Exam Pattern

UP Special TET 2026 Exam Pattern for both levels of the test is explained below:

• Mode: Offline (OMR-based written exam).

• Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes (150 minutes).

• Total Questions: 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).

• Total Marks: 150 marks (1 mark per question).

• Negative Marking: No negative marking.

• Medium: Bilingual (Hindi and English, except for language papers).
