The GSET Cut Off 2024 is determined based on a set procedure and criteria to ensure fairness and transparency. Here is the step-by-step process that explains how the GSET Cut Off is calculated and the eligibility requirements for candidates:
Step I: Total Slots
: The number of candidates to be qualified for Assistant Professor shall be 6% of the total candidates who appeared in both papers of GSET.
Step II: Allocation of Slots
: The total slots shall be allocated to different categories as per the reservation policy of Government of Gujarat.
Step III: Qualifying Marks
: To be eligible for Assistant Professor, a candidate must have appeared in both papers and secured at least: 40% aggregate marks in both papers for General (Unreserved) / General-EWS category candidates and 35% aggregate marks in both papers for reserved categories (SC, ST, SEBC, PwD, and Third gender).
Step IV: Calculation of Qualified Candidates
: The number of candidates to be declared qualified in a subject for a particular category is calculated as follows:
Number of candidates belonging to the category who secure at least the qualifying marks (35% or 40%) × Total slots derived for the category ÷ Total number of candidates belonging to the category who secure at least the qualifying marks.
Determination of Qualifying Cut-off
: The aggregate percentage of the two papers corresponding to the number of slots arrived at shall determine the qualifying cut-off for Eligibility for Assistant Professor.

: The above procedure is used for all subjects and categories.
Finality of Qualifying Criteria
: The above qualifying criteria are final and binding.
