JK SET Educational Qualification 2025

To be eligible for the JK SET 2025, candidates must meet the specified educational qualifications as outlined by the conducting authority. These qualifications ensure that candidates are equipped with the necessary academic background for the exam.

1. Master's Degree: Candidates must have a Master's Degree or equivalent with at least 55% marks (without rounding off) from a UGC recognized university/institution.
2. Relaxation for SC/ST/PwD Candidates: For SC/ST/PwD candidates, the minimum marks required is 50% in Master's Degree in Sciences, Humanities, and Social Science.
3. Transgender Candidates: Transgender candidates are eligible for relaxation in fee and age similar to SC/ST/PwD categories.
4. Provision for Candidates Awaiting Results: Candidates who are appearing for the qualifying Master's degree examination can apply.
5. Provisional Admission: Provisional admission will be granted to candidates who pass the Master's degree examination within two years with required marks.
6. Relaxation for Ph.D. Degree Holders: Ph.D. holders with Master's level completed by 19th September 1991 are eligible for a 5% relaxation in aggregate marks for JKSET/LASET.
7. Subject Requirement: Candidates must appear in the subject of their Post-Graduation.
8. Alternative Subject: For candidates whose subject is not listed, UGC-NET/UGC-CSIR Test is an alternative.
9. Evaluation of Foreign Degrees: Candidates with foreign degrees must ascertain the equivalence from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi.

JK SET Reservation Policy

The JK SET 2025 follows a specific reservation policy to ensure equal opportunities for candidates from various categories. This policy outlines the percentage of seats reserved for different groups, including SC, ST, OBC, and PwD candidates.

• The reservation policy for JKSET/LASET-2025 is the same as the existing policies of the UT of J&K and Ladakh.
• Candidates from other states, except UT of J&K and Ladakh, belonging to reserved categories will be treated as open/unreserved category.
• To be considered for a reserved category, candidates must possess a valid requisite category certificate and domicile (of the UT for which they are applying) on the cut-off date (last date of submission of online application).
• Under process or expired certificates will not be considered.
• The candidature of candidates will be provisional until the genuineness of the reserved category certificate is verified by the Appointing Authority.
• Candidates who make false, fake, or fraudulent claims for reservation will be debarred from the JKSET/LASET examination and may face additional penal action.
• Certificates issued after the last date prescribed for submission of online application form will not be entertained.

• 20 minutes compensatory time in Paper-I
• 40 minutes compensatory time in Paper-II
• Provision of a scribe who is a graduate in a subject other than the candidate's subject
• No provision of Test Booklets in Braille for VH candidates

• Compensatory time and facility of scribe will be provided to PH candidates who are unable to write in their own handwriting, but only if a written request is made to the SET Agency Office, University of Jammu/Coordinator JKSET/LASET Kashmir University/Coordinator JKSET/LASET University of Leh at least one week before the exam date.
• Compensatory time and facility of scribe will not be provided to other Physically Challenged candidates.

JK SET Eligibility 2025 Exemption from Appearing in SET

• Those who have passed the UGC/CSIR examination for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) prior to December 1989.
• Those who have qualified the National Eligibility Test for Lectureship/Assistant Professor (UGC-NET) conducted under the aegis of UGC or qualified the Joint CSIR-UGC Test.
• These exemptions are governed by UGC regulations and amendments notified in the Gazette of India and adopted by the UTs (Union Territories) from time to time.
