The university sets special rules that every student must follow. These rules are divided into different groups based on the category of the student. General students have different rules, and students from special categories get some relaxation. According to the Rajasthan SET Notice.pdf, the key criteria include:
Candidates must check their qualifications before paying the fee.
The selection relies on the official details given by the university.
Students can apply only for the subject that they studied in their master's degree.
If a subject is not on the official list, the student can choose to give the UGC NET or UGC-CSIR NET exam instead.
A candidate must have a Master's Degree or an equivalent degree from a university approved by the UGC. The university requires a specific percentage of marks for different categories as detailed in the Rajasthan SET Notice.pdf.
Students from the General, Unreserved, and General-EWS categories must score at least 55% marks in their Master's Degree. The university does not round off the marks. This means a score of 54.9% will not count as 55%.
Students from Other Backwards Classes (OBC) Non-Creamy Layer, Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Persons with Disability (PwBD), and Third Gender categories need fewer marks. They must score at least 50% marks in their Master's Degree to become eligible.
Students who are currently studying in the final year of their Master's degree can also fill out the form. Students whose results are delayed or not declared yet are also allowed. These students will get a temporary entry. They must pass their Master's Degree with the required percentage within two years from the date the Rajasthan SET result comes out. If they fail to do this, they will lose their eligibility.
Rajasthan SET Age Limit 2026 has been stated in the Rajasthan SET Notice; the University of Kota has not kept any maximum age limit for the candidates.
There is no upper age limit to apply for this test.
Any candidate who clears the college educational qualification can apply, no matter how old they are.
This rule helps older candidates who want to change their career and start teaching in colleges later in life.
There is no limit on how many times a person can give this exam.
Candidates can try to pass this test as many times as they want because the university does not put a cap on attempts.
If a candidate does not pass on the first try, they can fill out the form again next time.
Even if a candidate passes the exam once but wants to improve their knowledge, there is no restriction on appearing again.
