  • Those currently pursuing their Master’s degree or equivalent course can also apply, along with candidates awaiting results of their final year examination or those facing delays in their qualifying examinations.
  • Provisional admission is granted to such candidates, who must pass their Master’s degree or equivalent examination within two years from the date of TNSET result, maintaining the required percentage of marks (55% for general candidates, 50% for reserved categories).
  • Ph.D. degree holders who completed their Master’s Level examination before 19 September 1991 are eligible for a 5% relaxation in aggregate marks, reducing the requirement from 55% to 50% for TN SET eligibility.
  • Candidates whose Post Graduation subjects are not covered in the list of TN SET subjects may opt for the UGC-NET or joint CSIR-UGC Test.
  • Candidates holding post-graduate diplomas/certificates from Indian or foreign universities should ensure the equivalence of their qualifications with recognized Indian Master’s degrees from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi (www.aiu.ac.in).
