UGC NET English Exam Date 2024
The National Testing Agency will conduct the UGC NET 2024 Exam from August 21 to September 4, 2024, for eligible candidates aiming to secure a Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) or assistant professor positions in Indian universities and colleges. Interested candidates must ensure that they meet the eligibility criteria set by NTA. To qualify for UGC NET English Exam 2024:- Candidates must hold a postgraduate degree in English from a college or university recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
- The required percentage for the Master's degree is 55% for General Category candidates and 50% for SC, ST, and OBC candidates.
- Those awaiting their postgraduate results can also apply, provided they complete their degree within two years from the NET examination date and meet the required percentage.
- PhD holders who completed their Master's degree before September 19, 1991, are eligible for a 5% relaxation in aggregate marks.
UGC NET English Exam Age Limit
For JRF (Junior Research Fellowship), candidates must be under 30 years of age as of June 1, 2024. However, relaxations are provided for candidates belonging to certain categories:- OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwD, and third gender categories, as well as women applicants, can avail a relaxation of up to 5 years.
- Candidates with research experience can receive a maximum relaxation of 5 years, provided they furnish a relevant certificate.
- L.L.M. degree holders are eligible for a 3-year age relaxation, while candidates with armed forces experience can avail a 5-year relaxation based on their service duration.
- There is no upper age limit for Assistant Professors at UGC-NET, nor is there an upper age limit for applying for UGC-NET for Admission to PhD programs.
UGC NET English Exam 2024 Apply Online
The National Testing Agency started accepting the UGC NET 2024 Application Form for the June 2024 exam on April 20th. The last date to apply online is May 19, 2024. Candidates must submit their applications online by May 19, 2024. To apply:- Online Registration: Candidates need to register using their valid email ID and mobile number on the official website.
- Application Form: After registration, candidates must complete the online application form, generating a unique application number in the process.
- Document Upload: Applicants are required to upload scanned images of their recent photograph and signature within the specified file size limits.
