  • Applying may be possible for those who have taken their Master's degree final examinations and are awaiting their results. Such applicants must complete their Master's degree to be considered for provisional admission.
  • To appear in the NET, PhD candidates who passed their Master's level exam before September 19, 1991 (regardless of when the results were announced) may be eligible for a 5% aggregate mark reduction.
Minimum Marks
  • A Master's degree program may have different minimum marks depending on the category; for example, OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PwD/Third Gender requires 50% of the necessary marks, while General/Unreserved/EWS requires 55%.
  • Make sure you can meet the minimum % necessary by the time the results are announced if you are taking the exam the year you finish your master's degree.
Age Limit
  • There is no upper age limit for the Assistant Professor position in the UGC NET application process.
  • Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), there might be a 30-year age limit.
