11th Anniversary of Telangana Day

The year 2025 marks the 11th anniversary of Telangana’s statehood. This anniversary shows how far the state has come since it was officially formed in 2014. On this occasion, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy led the celebrations with a vision for a brighter future. At the Parade Ground, he emphasized the government’s commitment to building a prosperous and inclusive Telangana.

  • Telangana aims to become a $3 trillion economy by 2047
  • ₹3 lakh crore worth of investments secured since 2023
  • 60,000 government jobs filled in just 16 months
  • Plans to develop Bharat Future City on 30,000 acres
  • Metro, Regional Rail, and airport expansion are underway

These initiatives reflect Telangana’s determination to lead in growth, infrastructure, and innovation on a national and global scale.

Telangana Formation Day History

The demand for a separate Telangana began decades ago. When India reorganised its states on a linguistic basis in 1956, Telangana was merged with Andhra Pradesh. Over time, people in the Telangana region felt ignored in development and job opportunities. This led to several protests and agitations.

The first major movement started in 1969, known as the Telangana Agitation. Although it didn’t succeed then, it laid the foundation for future movements. The final push came in the 2000s, led by K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) and his party, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS). After years of protests, strikes, and political pressure, the Indian Parliament passed the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act in 2014.

Finally, on June 2, 2014, Telangana officially became the 29th state of India.
