UPSC Age Limit : The candidate must be between 21 and 32 years old as of 1st August 2025. There are age relaxations for certain categories:
Educational Qualification: A candidate must have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
Nationality: The candidate must be a citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Number of Attempts: General category candidates can attempt the exam 6 times. For OBC, the limit is 9 attempts, and there is no limit for SC/ST candidates.
The UPSC Prelims is the first stage and consists of two papers: General Studies Paper I and General Studies Paper II (CSAT).
