UPSC may need to communicate important interview-related information to shortlisted candidates. An outdated postal address, mobile number or email contact can create difficulties in receiving or responding to official communication.
The Commission will release the Personality Test schedule and e-Summon Letters through its official portals. Candidates must download their e-Summon Letters online, as physical summon letters will not be sent by post.
Candidates can also check the UPSC Interview DAF guide to understand the information and formalities related to the interview stage.
Candidates can inform UPSC through either email or a written letter. The communication should be sent immediately and within the seven-day period.
Candidates can send an email to csm-upsc@nic.in explaining the changes in their address or contact details.
Use a clear subject line, such as:
Change of Address/Contact Details – Civil Services (Main) Examination 2026
Candidates who prefer postal communication can send a letter to:
Union Public Service Commission
Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road,

Mobile number and email ID, wherever applicable
Candidates should clearly explain which information has changed. They should also retain a copy of the sent email or postal receipt as proof of communication.
The seven-day facility is strictly limited to address and contact information. It does not allow candidates to reopen or modify other details submitted in their application form.
Requests to change the following details will not be accepted under this exception:
Educational qualification details

There is a separate requirement for candidates who had selected the “appearing” status for graduation during the Preliminary Examination application.
