Candidates must be citizens of India to apply for the BPSC AE post. They must possess valid identification documents as proof of Indian citizenship. Candidates residing outside Bihar or another state will be considered in the unreserved category and they will not get age relaxation and other benefits applicable to reserved categories.

Candidates having prior work experience would be preferred for the selection. Individuals serving on a contractual basis will be awarded additional marks based on their year of service. The total weightage for experience will cover a weightage of 25% marks in the overall selection procedure.
Candidates will be awarded 5 marks for every year of service. For the partial year, the marks can be obtained by multiplying the number of working days for a part of a year by 5 and dividing it by 365.
There are no specific attempt limits for the BPSC AE Exam. Candidates meeting eligibility criteria may appear for as many times as they want.
