The RRB JE CBT-1 Electrical Engineering Syllabus 2026 is based on the previous official notification, as the latest recruitment notification has not yet been released. CBT-1 is a common screening test for all engineering streams and includes Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, and General Science. Electrical Engineering technical subjects are tested only in CBT-2. The CBT-1 exam consists of 100 objective questions carrying 100 marks with a negative marking of one-third for each incorrect answer.

RRB JE CBT-1 Electrical Engineering Syllabus 2026 helps candidates understand the structure and subject areas required for the Railway Recruitment Board Junior Engineer exam. Since the official 2026 notification is not yet released, the syllabus is based on the previous year’s official pattern for Electrical & Allied Engineering.

CBT-1 is a screening stage common to all engineering branches, meaning Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, and other candidates appear for the same paper. Technical Electrical Engineering topics are introduced only in CBT-2.

Understanding the syllabus in advance helps candidates plan preparation efficiently and focus on high-scoring areas like Mathematics, Reasoning, and General Awareness.

RRB JE CBT-1 Exam Pattern 2026

The CBT-1 exam is a computer-based test with objective-type questions.

  • Total Questions: 100

  • Total Marks: 100

  • Duration: 90 minutes (120 minutes for eligible PwD candidates)

  • Marking Scheme: +1 for correct answer, -1/3 for wrong answer

Subject Distribution:

  • Mathematics – 30 Questions

  • General Intelligence & Reasoning – 25 Questions

  • General Awareness – 15 Questions

  • General Science – 30 Questions

CBT-1 does not include branch-specific Electrical Engineering topics. However, candidates should understand basic science concepts that indirectly support technical understanding in CBT-2.
