RRB JE CBT-1 Electrical Engineering Syllabus 2026 helps candidates understand the structure and subject areas required for the Railway Recruitment Board Junior Engineer exam. Since the official 2026 notification is not yet released, the syllabus is based on the previous year’s official pattern for Electrical & Allied Engineering.
CBT-1 is a screening stage common to all engineering branches, meaning Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, and other candidates appear for the same paper. Technical Electrical Engineering topics are introduced only in CBT-2.
Understanding the syllabus in advance helps candidates plan preparation efficiently and focus on high-scoring areas like Mathematics, Reasoning, and General Awareness.
The CBT-1 exam is a computer-based test with objective-type questions.
Total Questions: 100
Total Marks: 100
Duration: 90 minutes (120 minutes for eligible PwD candidates)
Marking Scheme: +1 for correct answer, -1/3 for wrong answer
Subject Distribution:
Mathematics – 30 Questions
General Intelligence & Reasoning – 25 Questions
General Awareness – 15 Questions
General Science – 30 Questions
CBT-1 does not include branch-specific Electrical Engineering topics. However, candidates should understand basic science concepts that indirectly support technical understanding in CBT-2.
