Several factors influence the SSC JE cut-off every year. These include:
Number of vacancies announced
Total number of candidates appearing
Difficulty level of the examination
Overall performance of candidates
Reservation policy
Normalisation of marks across multiple shifts
Even a slight variation in any of these factors may increase or decrease the final cut-off.
You can follow these simple steps to check the cut-off once it is released.
Step 1: Visit the official SSC website.
Step 2: Open the "Results" section.
Step 3: Click on the SSC JE Paper 1 Result link.
Step 4: Download the PDF containing the result and category-wise cut-off.
Step 5: Search your category and engineering discipline to check the qualifying marks.
Candidates who secure marks equal to or above the prescribed cut-off will qualify for the next stage of the recruitment process.
The subsequent stages generally include:
Paper 2
Document Verification
Final Merit List
Qualifying for the cut-off does not guarantee final selection. Candidates must also perform well in the remaining stages of the recruitment process.
To maximise your chances of qualifying:
Complete the entire syllabus.
Focus on high-weightage technical subjects.
Solve previous years' question papers.
Attempt regular mock tests.
Improve speed and accuracy.
Revise formulas and important concepts regularly.
Avoid unnecessary negative marking by attempting the questions carefully.
