SSC JE Exam Pattern 2025: The Staff Selection Commission will administer the SSC JE 2025 examination to appoint Junior Engineers (Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, and Contracts) in various departments.
The SSC JE Notification 2025 will be published on June 30, 2025, on the official site, ssc.gov.in, and the applications will be accepted until July 21, 2025.
The SSC JE 2025 Paper 1 will be conducted from October 27 to 31, 2025. Candidates appearing for the SSC JE 2025 must have a comprehensive knowledge of the exam pattern to get detailed insights into the number of questions to be asked from a particular subject, the marking scheme, the exam duration, and the type of questions.
The SSC JE Exam Pattern 2025 consists of two papers - Paper 1 and Paper 2, both are conducted online as Computer-Based Tests (CBT) featuring objective-type multiple-choice questions.
Paper 1 is designed to assess a candidate’s general aptitude and foundational engineering knowledge. It includes three sections: General Intelligence & Reasoning (50 questions, 50 marks), General Awareness (50 questions, 50 marks), and General Engineering (Civil & Structural, Electrical, or Mechanical - 100 questions, 100 marks), totaling 200 marks with a duration of 2 hours. Each incorrect answer will have a penalty of 0.25 marks.
Paper 2 focuses exclusively on the candidate’s chosen engineering discipline (Civil & Structural, Electrical, or Mechanical), featuring 100 questions for 300 marks to be completed in 2 hours. For Paper 2, each wrong answer results in a deduction of 1 mark.
Candidates who perform well in both stages will be selected for the position of Junior Engineer (Group B) in prestigious departments like MES, CPWD, NTRO, BRO, etc.

The SSC JE Paper 1 includes 200 objective-type questions from General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, and the opted Engineering discipline.
