FSSAI Exam Pattern: The FSSAI exam consists of 120 multiple-choice questions to be completed within 180 minutes. Sections are General Intelligence, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, General Awareness, Computer Literacy, and the duties and functions of the FSSAI. A correct answer earns 4 marks; a wrong answer loses 1 mark.

FSSAI  Exam Overview

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) is a statutory body under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, which holds national-level recruitment exams for posts like Technical Officer, Central Food Safety Officer, Assistant, and many others. The exam is held to select potential candidates for posts involved in regulating and administering food safety and welfare throughout India.

For 2025, the Official Notification, Application Dates, and Exam dates for each post(Technical Officer, Assistant, Junior Assistant Grade-I, etc.) are yet to be released. Candidates are requested to regularly visit the official website of FSSAI for every update.

FSSAI  Syllabus

FSSAI exam syllabus consists of the following: General Intelligence which consists of analogies, reasoning, problem solving; Quantitative Aptitude such as number systems, arithmetic, percentages, averages; the English Language including grammar, comprehension, and vocabulary; General Awareness including current events, history, geography, polity, and science; and Computer Literacy covering basics of MS Office applications, social media and emails. 

The syllabus also includes FSSAI's roles, functions, and initiatives, and covers food laws, food regulations, enforcement of the regulations, and food safety awareness campaigns.  The syllabus will also cover food safety for both food technologists and managers, but this will be assessed for technical and managerial candidates only. 

The syllabus is supposed to test the student's analytical ability and subject methodology with their specific area of expertise, while awareness of food safety laws and the jurisdictional hierarchy of FSSAI is easier to assess by the FSSAI evaluation team.

FSSAI  Exam Pattern

FSSAI exam pattern is made up of two parts, each of which consists of 120 MCQs to be done in 180 minutes. The exam consists of General Aptitude and Computer Literacy (Part A) and Functional Knowledge (Part B). There's no interview; the final selection is based on the scores of both CBTs combined.
