How Does IBPS Calculate the AFO Exam Score?

As per the official notification, IBPS follows the following process while calculating candidates' scores:

  • Incorrect answers in the objective tests attract a penalty of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.

  • No penalty is applied for unanswered questions.

  • Corrected scores are calculated after applying the prescribed negative marking.

  • If the examination is conducted in multiple sessions, corrected scores are normalized using the equi-percentile method.

  • Final scores are calculated up to two decimal places.

If the IBPS Online Examination is conducted in multiple sessions, IBPS uses the Equi-percentile Method to ensure fairness across all shifts. This process adjusts scores based on the relative difficulty level of each session so that candidates are evaluated on an equal scale.

How Are IBPS AFO Scores Used?

The marks obtained in the Online Main Examination play an important role in the selection process.

Candidates must:

  • Secure the minimum qualifying marks in each test.

  • Obtain sufficiently high marks in the Professional Knowledge section to be shortlisted for the Interview.

  • Meet the overall cut-off decided by IBPS.

The Main Examination score is used for interview shortlisting and contributes to the final merit list.

IBPS AFO Score Card and Final Merit

The IBPS AFO score card include Online Main Examination scores followed by the Interview for shortlisted candidates. The official notification specifies that:

  • The Online Main Examination carries a weightage of 80%.

  • The Interview carries a weightage of 20%.

  • Final merit is prepared based on the combined performance in the Online Main Examination and Interview.
