To apply for the post of Agriculture Officer, candidates must be Indian citizens. No candidate from a foreign country, including NRIs or PIOs, will be accepted under this recruitment drive. The Commission has clearly stated that only Indian nationals are eligible for selection under this advertisement.
This criterion is very strict, and there are no exceptions or relaxations. Any person who is not an Indian citizen at the time of application shall be disqualified without any further consideration. Therefore, applicants must ensure that they hold valid Indian citizenship documents before applying.
The applicant should have a Graduate degree in Agriculture or Horticulture. This degree should be from a University that is recognized by the Government of India or the State Government. Such of the final year may submit a pass certificate at the time of document verification or get it before the date of document verification, and in failure to do so, the candidature of the candidates will be rejected.

Knowing the agro-climatic conditions in Tripura: This assists in getting an insight into the farmers' and crops' requirements region-wise.
Bengali or Kokborok fluency: As Bengali and Kokborok are local languages, it will make communication simpler with the farmers and villagers.
The age limit for general category candidates is 40 years as on 20th August 2025. This is the maximum age limit for applying to the post without any relaxation. However, certain relaxations are available for candidates belonging to reserved categories and government employees.
