The Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB) may revise the schedule for the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Exam 2027 and Higher Secondary (HS) Final Exam 2027. Recent floods in several districts and Census-related duties have affected regular classroom teaching, leading the Board to extend the teaching period for Classes 10 and 12.
According to the official notification, regular classes for Class 10 students will continue until February 22, 2027, while Class 12 classes will continue until March 8, 2027. The extended schedule will give schools more time to complete the prescribed syllabus before the annual examinations. The board exam dates will be announced soon on the official website.
Assam HSLC and HC board exams may be delayed due to the flood issues. The teachers are unable to complete the syllabus on-time. Therefore, the regular classes have been extended to complete the syllabus.

The possible changes to the Assam Board exam schedule are linked to disruptions in school education. Floods affected several districts, while teachers and government staff were assigned Census-related duties.
According to reports, floods caused school closures in Sivasagar, Charaideo, Jorhat and Golaghat during July and August. These closures reduced the time available for regular teaching.
Teachers from high schools and higher secondary institutions were also involved in Census-related work for nearly a month during August and September. This further affected classroom activities and the completion of the prescribed syllabus.
The Board noted that Class 10 students might not complete their syllabus by the first week of February 2027. Similarly, Class 12 students might need more time beyond February 28, 2027, to finish their courses.
To address these concerns, ASSEB extended the teaching schedule for both classes. The final examination timetable will be decided according to the revised academic arrangements.
ASSEB Division I has extended the classroom teaching period for students preparing for the 2027 board examinations.
