Srishti Sehlawat's remarkable achievement of All India Rank (AIR) 20 in the CA Foundation examination serves as an inspiring example for aspiring students. Her journey highlights strategic preparation, effective resource utilization, and the power of consistent mentorship. This blog explores her preparation strategy and philosophy that led to her outstanding success.
Srishti Sehlawat secured an impressive All India Rank (AIR) 20 in the CA Foundation examination. She achieved an aggregate score of 341 out of 400 marks, demonstrating exceptional performance across all subjects. Notably, every subject score exceeded 80 marks. Her individual subject scores were:
Accountancy: 89
Quantitative Aptitude: 93
Business Economics: 97
Business Law: Also scored over 80 marks
Srishti's outstanding rank was unexpected, given her primary goal was simply to pass the CA Foundation attempt. She had limited preparation time, having just completed her 12th-grade examinations. Her intensive study period for CA Foundation was concentrated in a focused 1.5 to 2 months immediately after her 12th-grade exams. During this crucial period, she effectively utilized a Fast Track Batch. Prior to this, she attempted some self-study alongside her 12th board preparation in January and May, but found managing both effectively to be challenging.
Srishti adopted distinct strategies for different subjects, tackling specific challenges:
Business Law: Initially, this subject presented difficulties due to its extensive syllabus and insufficient writing practice. Despite these hurdles, she secured "very good marks" with the crucial assistance of Chetanya Sir's Star Sheets. Her strategy involved revising pre-made notes using these Star Sheets shortly before the examination.
Quantitative Aptitude: For this subject, Srishti primarily relied on YouTube One-Shots, specifically Anurag Sir's content. She highlighted the detailed coverage and effective practice questions provided in these one-shot sessions, which proved highly beneficial.
General Study Methods: She consistently emphasized using YouTube One-Shots for comprehensive subject coverage. Additionally, she utilized specific curated materials like Star Sheets and focused diligently on revising pre-made notes closer to the exam.
A significant factor in Srishti's success was the benefit of studying with the same teachers across multiple academic levels, including 11th, 12th, and CA Foundation.
For Economics, she maintained consistency by studying with Love Sir from 11th grade through CA Foundation. This continuity helped her sustain a strong learning flow and deeply understand his teaching strategy.
Similarly, she continued her Accountancy studies with Manish Sir from 12th grade into CA Foundation.
The advantage of consistent teachers facilitated quicker understanding as she became familiar with their teaching styles and pedagogical approaches.
CJ Sir was also recognized for his ability to help with a "difficult subject" and for using an engaging teaching style, including singing, which helped alleviate student fatigue in class.
Srishti shared a profound insight regarding the approach to achieving an All India Rank (AIR). Her philosophy can be summarized through this core idea:
Instead of studying specifically for an AIR, the primary focus should be on studying all subjects thoroughly and well.
The AIR comes automatically as a direct consequence of comprehensive and diligent preparation.
Srishti's own experience strongly validates this philosophy. She initially studied to pass the examination, concentrating on mastering all aspects well. This approach, without explicitly aiming for a rank, unexpectedly led to her securing an impressive AIR 2
