The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is the conducting body of the CA exams. CA Foundation is the first stage for students who want to become Chartered Accountants (CA) in India. The marks scored in the CA Foundation exam reveal the qualifying status for any student in the next rounds of the examination process.
The CA Foundation exam result will be declared on March 8, along with the marksheet, on the ICAI portal. Students who will pass the CA Foundation exam will be eligible to appear in the CA Inter exam and register for the May/November exam accordingly.
The moment a student passes the CA Foundation exam, they become eligible for the CA Intermediate course. Registration is not automatic; candidates must manually apply through the ICAI Self-Service Portal (SSP).
Registration Deadline: To appear in a specific attempt, the student must register at least 8 months before the first day of the exam month.
The SSP Portal: Ensure your profile is updated. Students will need to upload their marksheet and pay the registration fee (approx. ₹18,000 for both groups).
Once the registration is confirmed, the student will receive a Student Registration Number (SRN). This allows students to access the Centralised Distribution System (CDS).
Coupon System: ICAI provides a coupon that allows the student to order the latest study modules for free (included in the registration fee).
Timeline: Books typically take 7–15 days to arrive, so the student should order them immediately to avoid a delay in starting their preparation.
Before beginning an articleship, every student must complete the Integrated Course on Information Technology and Soft Skills (ICITSS). This is a critical requirement of the New Scheme.
Information Technology (IT): 15 days focusing on Excel, Tally, and electronic filing.
Orientation Course (OC): 15 days dedicated to communication, grooming, and ethics.
It is highly recommended that the student finish this 30-day training during the initial months to keep the pre-exam period free for intensive study.
Students should make a strategic plan regarding their understanding of the CA Intermediate syllabus. Focus to enrol for the coaching classes and begin with the self-study for the exam preparation. They need to plan whether they have to appear for the single group or both groups together in the CA Inter exam. Make a scheudle as how to begin with the exam preparation. Students should have the time to practice questions and evaluate their performance for the exam.
