ICSI SIP Training Guide 2026: After completing CSEET registration, many students believe their next step is only exam preparation. However, the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) has made the Student Induction Programme (SIP) an important mandatory requirement. Due to confusion regarding registration, scheduling, online/offline mode, and deadlines, many students are unsure about how to proceed after enrolling for CSEET.
The ICSI SIP Training 2026, designed by the ICSI, introduces students to the course's fundamentals, career prospects, and effective strategies for successful completion. It aims to equip new registrants with the necessary knowledge and confidence to navigate their academic journey.
Read on to know what the student induction programme is, the steps to attend SIP, and how SIP helps CS students.
The Student Induction Program (SIP) is a mandatory requirement for all students who have registered for the CS (Company Secretary) course.
ICSI introduced SIP to help students transition smoothly into the CS course and understand the professional responsibilities associated with the qualification. The programme is compulsory for eligible students registered after the revised guidelines.
Full Form: SIP stands for Student Induction Program.
Purpose of Induction: The term "Induction" here refers to a process where students are introduced to the course, helping them to understand it better and building confidence.
Mandatory Requirement: After registering for the CS course, students are mandatorily required to complete SIP within 30 days. This is a one-day program.
Program Content: During the SIP, the ICSI (Institute of Company Secretaries of India) chapters provide information on:
What the CS course involves.
Available career opportunities in the field.
How to efficiently pursue the course.
Essentially, it covers all aspects of the CS course.
Benefits for Students: Attending SIP benefits students, especially new students. It helps in building confidence and better preparing for the course by learning directly from the Institute. This program is particularly crucial at the CS Executive Entrance Test (CSEET) level as students are new to the course.
SIP can be completed either physically at an ICSI chapter office or, under specific conditions, through an online mode.
1. Physical Attendance (Recommended):
Students should attend SIP at their nearest ICSI chapter office. During the CS course registration process, students are asked to select their preferred location for SIP (e.g., Delhi, Pune). Upon selection, students will receive an email detailing the SIP schedule. It is highly suggested to attend SIP physically at a chapter office if the chapter is nearby.
2. Online Attendance (Conditional):
Online SIP is an option only if the nearest ICSI chapter office is located more than 100 kilometers from the student's residence. To choose the online SIP, students must email ICSI requesting this arrangement. Students can also call their ICSI chapter or send an email to inquire about online options if they meet the distance criteria.
When registering for the CS course, students will be asked to select their SIP location. If physical attendance is chosen, an email with details will be sent by ICSI. If online attendance is required due to distance, students must contact ICSI via email to apply.
The ICSI SIP Training 2026 is an important first step after CSEET registration. It is not just a formal orientation programme but a structured introduction to the Company Secretary profession and course framework.
Students should actively monitor emails, stay connected with their nearest ICSI chapter, complete SIP within the prescribed timeline, and keep all completion records safely.
