• Genetics & Plant Breeding: Candidates must have a Master’s degree in Genetics and/or Plant Breeding. For IARI, a Bachelor's degree in B.Sc. (10+2+3 system) is required.
• Seed Science & Technology: Master’s degree in Seed Science & Technology. For IARI, a Bachelor's degree in B.Sc. (10+2+3 system) is required.
• Plant Genetic Resources: Master’s degree in Plant Genetic Resources, Botany, or Agricultural Botany. For IARI, a Bachelor's degree in B.Sc. (10+2+3 system) is required.
• Plant Pathology: Master’s degree in Plant Pathology or Plant Protection with specialization in Plant Pathology. For IARI, a Bachelor's degree in B.Sc. (10+2+3 system) is required.
• Nematology: Master’s degree in Nematology or Plant Protection with specialization in Nematology. For IARI, a Bachelor's degree in B.Sc. (10+2+3 system) is required.
• Entomology: Master’s degree in Agricultural Entomology, Entomology, or Plant Protection with specialization in Entomology. For IARI, a Bachelor's degree in B.Sc. (10+2+3 system) is required.
• Sericulture: For specialization in Sericulture/Agricultural or Horticultural Entomology, specific requirements are not mentioned.
• Biochemistry: Master’s degree in Plant Biochemistry or Biochemistry. For IARI, a Bachelor's degree in B.Sc. (10+2+3 system) is required.
• Plant Physiology: Master’s degree in Plant Physiology or Crop Physiology. For IARI, a Bachelor's degree in B.Sc. (10+2+3 system) is required.
• Molecular Biology & Biotechnology: Master’s degree in Agricultural Biotechnology, Biotechnology, or Molecular Biology & Biotechnology. For IARI, a Bachelor's degree in B.Sc. (10+2+3 system) is required.
• Candidates applying for Dairy Technology, Dairy Science, Dairy Engineering, Livestock Products Technology, or Food Technology with specialization in Dairy Technology at SAUs/CAUs, etc., must possess a 4-year B. Tech. degree.
• For NDRI, candidates applying for Dairy Technology, Dairy Engineering, Livestock Products Technology, or Food Technology with specialization in Dairy Technology must possess a 4-year B. Tech. degree.
• Dairy Engineering applicants for SAUs/CAUs, etc., must have an M. Tech. degree in Dairy Engineering or Dairy Technology. For NDRI, applicants must hold an M. Tech./M.E. degree in Dairy Engineering, Dairy Technology, Agriculture Process & Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Dairy & Food Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, or Post-Harvest Process & Food Engineering/Food Technology. Candidates must also possess a 4-year B. Tech./B.E. degree.
• Candidates interested in Farm Machinery and Power Engineering must hold a degree in Agricultural Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Farm Machinery and Power/Renewable energy.
• For Soil and Water Conservation Engineering, candidates should possess a degree in Agricultural Engineering with specialization in Soil and Water/Soil and Water Conservation/Civil Engineering/Irrigation and Drainage Engineering/Water Resources/Water Science and Technology.
• Candidates applying for Processing and Food Engineering must have a degree in Agricultural Engineering with specialization in Agricultural Processing Engineering/Processing and Food Engineering/Food Process Engineering/Dairy Engineering/Post Harvest Technology (with specialization in Post Harvest Engineering and Technology)/Renewable Energy Engineering.
• Renewable Energy Engineering applicants must hold a degree in Agricultural Engineering with specialization in Renewable Energy/Farm Machinery and Power Engineering/Processing & Food Engineering.
• For Irrigation & Drainage Engineering, candidates should have a degree in Agricultural Engineering with specialization in Soil and Water/Soil and Water Conservation/Irrigation and Drainage/Hydrology/Water Resources/Water Science and Technology.
• Resource Management and Consumer Science applicants should possess a degree in Home Science with specialization in Family Resource Management.
• Apparel and Textiles Science candidates must have a degree in Home Science with specialization in Clothing and Textiles/Textiles and Apparel Designing.
• Candidates applying for Human Development and Family Studies should hold a degree in Home Science with specialization in Child Development/Human Development and Family Studies.
• For Food and Nutrition, candidates must possess a degree in Home Science with specialization in Food Science and Nutrition.
• Extension Education and Communication Management applicants should have a degree in Home Science with specialization in Home Science Extension/Home Science Extension and Community Management.
• Fisheries Resource Management candidates must possess an M. F. Sc. degree with specialization in Fisheries Resources (and) Management/Fishery Biology.
• For Fish Processing Technology, candidates should hold an M. F. Sc. degree with specialization in Fish Processing Technology/Harvest & Post Harvest Technology.
