Before applying for the WB State Eligibility Test (WB SET), candidates must ensure they meet all eligibility criteria set by the exam authorities. Eligibility is mainly based on educational qualifications. You can check the detailed WB SET eligibility criteria below.- Candidates must have a Master’s Degree or equivalent from a UGC-recognized university or institution.
- For General/EWS candidates, a minimum of 55% marks (without rounding off) in the Master’s Degree or equivalent is required.
- OBC (non-creamy layer), SC, ST, PWD, and Transgender candidates must secure at least 50% marks (without rounding off).
- Ph.D. holders who completed their Master’s degree before 19th September 1991 are eligible for a 5% relaxation in the required marks (from 55% to 50%).
- There is no upper age limit for the WB SET 2024 exam. Candidates who meet the educational qualifications can apply without any age restrictions.

The WB SET 2024 Exam follows an objective-type multiple-choice format and consists of two papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2.- Paper 1: This paper will have 50 compulsory questions, each worth 2 marks. These general questions aim to assess the candidate's teaching and research aptitude.
- Paper 2: This paper includes 100 compulsory questions, each worth 2 marks, based on the candidate's chosen subject.
- The WB SET Mathematical Science Exam 2024 duration is 1 hour for Paper 1, 2 hours for Paper 2.
- Each correct answer will earn 2 marks, and there is no negative marking for incorrect answers.
WB SET Mathematical Science Cut Off
