The National Testing Agency (NTA) has introduced several significant changes to the academic year 2025-2026 exam. Below are the key updates regarding the CUET PG 2025 exam: 

1. CUET PG 2025 Exam Duration Revised

One of the notable changes is the reduction in exam duration. The total duration of the exam has been shortened from 105 minutes to 90 minutes for all subjects.

  • Total Duration: 90 Minutes (1 hour 30 minutes)

  • Mode of Exam: Computer-Based Test (CBT) only

  • Negative Marking: 1/4th of the total marks for incorrect answers

This change aligns with NTA’s efforts to streamline the examination process and reduce the overall time required for candidates.

2. Increased CUET PG 2025 Application Fee

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has increased the registration fees for CUET PG 2025 by Rs 200 compared to last year. Candidates in the general category will need to pay Rs 1,400 for registration, while those in the OBC-NCL/Gen-EWS categories will need to pay Rs 1,200. Last year, candidates had to pay Rs 600 for each additional test paper. This year, the fee for each extra test paper has been raised to Rs 700 for general category candidates. 3. CUET PG 2025 Official Website Revised

The official website for CUET PG 2025 has been revised to exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-PG. This website now provides important resources such as the information brochure, syllabus, frequently asked questions (FAQs), and details on eligibility criteria, participating universities, and available subjects. Aspiring candidates registered for the CUET PG 2025 through the official website. 

All exam-related dates, including the registration timeline, are also available on this platform. Students can easily access the CUET PG 2025 syllabus and eligibility criteria, and stay updated on the latest news and announcements through this official website. Previously, the website was pgcuet.samarth.ac.in.

4. CUET PG 2025 Exam Centres Expanded

For the CUET PG 2025 examination, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has made changes to the exam centre selection process. While the number of exam city centres in India has been reduced from 300 to 285, the total number of exam centres worldwide has increased to 312. One major change is that candidates will now be able to choose four exam city centres instead of just two, providing greater flexibility in choosing a convenient location based on their permanent or present address. New international exam centres include:

  • Oslo (Norway)

  • Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates)

5.  CUET PG 2025 General Paper Redesigned

CUET PG 2025 general paper has been redesigned to focus on skill-based and profession-specific knowledge, particularly benefiting MBA and LLB candidates. This revision ensures the paper aligns with the specific undergraduate knowledge required for these programs, emphasizing skills needed for professional roles. 

By catering to specialized fields, the new general paper supports universities offering courses that demand particular expertise, making it more relevant to the needs of professional courses. The redesign aims to better prepare candidates for their future careers by assessing practical, skill-based knowledge.

6. Revised CUET PG 2025 Admission Process 

CUET PG exam serves as the gateway to admissions in more than 190 participating universities. Students who wish to enroll in these universities must adhere to the CUET PG 2025 registration and exam process, which includes submitting the application form, paying the fee, and attending the exam. After the exam, candidates must follow the university-specific counselling process.
