NIMCET Percentage Tricks for Fast Calculations

Speed is essential in competitive exams. Applying mental math shortcuts helps solve problems in seconds.

Commutative Property

The commutative property states that x% of y equals y% of x.

If finding 64% of 25 is difficult, calculate 25% of 64 instead.

Since 25% equals 1/4, the answer is 16.

Percentage Decomposition

Break complex percentages into sums of familiar values from the conversion table.

  • Find 37.5% of 80:
    37.5% = 25% + 12.5% = 1/4 + 1/8 = 3/8
    (3/8) × 80 = 30

  • Cancel zeros when possible:
    30% of 170 = 3 × 17 = 51

NIMCET Percentage Practice Questions

Regular problem-solving builds pattern recognition for the exam. Here are two sample Percentage Questions for NIMCET with step-by-step solutions.

Question 1

Calculate the value of 31.11% of 45.

Solution:

Split 31.11% into known table values:

31.11% = 20% + 11.11%

20% of 45 = 9

11.11% = 1/9, and (1/9) × 45 = 5

Total = 9 + 5 = 14

Question 2

Find the value of 19.09% of 55.

Solution:

Decompose the percentage:

19.09% = 10% + 9.09%

10% of 55 = 5.5

9.09% = 1/11, and (1/11) × 55 = 5

Total = 5.5 + 5 = 10.5

Mastering percentages is essential for building a strong foundation in NIMCET 2027 quantitative aptitude. By revising formulas, learning efficient tricks, solving PYQs, and practising regularly, aspirants can improve speed and accuracy.

 Consistent practice with varied percentage problems will also make related arithmetic topics easier and help candidates approach the quantitative section with greater confidence.
