With the CUET UG 2026 results now available, participating universities have started their individual admission processes. Unlike JEE or NEET, CUET Counselling 2026 is not conducted through a common counselling portal. Every university releases its own registration form, merit list, counselling schedule, and seat allotment separately.
The University of Delhi (DU) has already started CUET UG counselling registration from June 27, 2026, while Banaras Hindu University (BHU) is expected to begin registrations in the first week of July 2026. Other central, state, deemed, and private universities will also release their admission schedules independently.
Candidates seeking admission to BA, BSc, BCom, BBA, BMS, and other undergraduate courses should regularly check the admission portal of their preferred university and complete registration within the prescribed deadline.
DU CUET UG counselling registration started on 27 June 2026.
BHU UG counselling registration is expected in the first week of July 2026.
JNU, Allahabad University, Jamia Millia Islamia, University of Hyderabad and other participating universities will announce their admission schedules separately.
Every university prepares its own merit list based on CUET UG scores, eligibility, reservation policy, and seat availability.
Admission is confirmed only after document verification and fee payment.
The counselling schedule differs from one university to another. Candidates should keep track of the official admission portals.

Many private universities such as Bennett University, Galgotias University, SRM University, KR Mangalam University, IIMT University, and others conduct separate CUET-based admissions.
Institutions like Jamia Hamdard, TISS, Gujarat Vidyapith, and several others also admit students through CUET.
This is one of the most important stages of counselling.
Keep these points in mind:
Place your dream college at the top.
Arrange realistic backup options.
Do not fill only one or two colleges.
Check previous cut-offs before locking choices.
Review preferences carefully before final submission.
Once locked, modification may not be allowed.
Candidates should keep the following documents ready:
CUET UG Scorecard
CUET Admit Card
Class 10 Certificate
Class 12 Marksheet

Aadhaar Card or other valid ID proof
After regular counselling rounds, universities may conduct spot counselling if seats remain vacant.
Spot counselling generally includes:
Fresh registration (if permitted)
Vacant seat display
New merit list
Immediate document verification
Admission fee payment
Candidates who were not allotted seats earlier should monitor the university portals for spot admission notifications.
To improve your chances of admission:
Register as soon as the counselling portal opens.
Apply to multiple universities instead of relying on just one.
Fill maximum eligible course preferences.
Keep all documents scanned and ready.
Track every merit list carefully.
Respond immediately after seat allotment.
Complete fee payment before the deadline.
Participate in upgrade and spot rounds if eligible.
Many candidates lose their allotted seats because of avoidable mistakes.
Common reasons include:
Missing the registration deadline
Incorrect document upload
Failure to verify certificates
Non-payment of admission fee
Wrong category certificate
Ignoring counselling updates
Once allotted a seat:
Accept the allotted seat.
Upload all required documents.
Complete verification.
Pay admission fees.
Report to the allotted college if physical reporting is required.
Begin classes according to the university schedule.
