The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially released the NDA 2 2026 Notification on 20 May 2026 under Notice No. 10/2026-NDA-II. The NDA 2 2026 Written Exam is scheduled for 13 September 2026 (Sunday). The exam will be conducted in offline (pen-and-paper) mode at 86 exam centres across India. It consists of two papers held on the same day:

The SSB Interview is also worth 900 marks, making the total selection score 1800 marks. Admit cards will be released on 6 September 2026, approximately one week before the exam.
UPSC has announced a total of 394 vacancies for NDA 2 2026, distributed across Army, Navy (including Naval Academy), and Air Force wings. Vacancies are announced separately for male and female candidates, and written results with final merit lists are prepared in a gender-pure manner.

Date of Birth Proof: Only the date of birth as recorded in the Matriculation / Secondary School Leaving Certificate or equivalent certificate recognised by an Indian University will be accepted. No other document — horoscope, affidavit, birth extract from Municipal Corporation — will be entertained.
Important Marital Status Rule: A candidate who marries after submitting the application — even if successful in the examination — will not be selected for training. A candidate who marries during training will be discharged and must refund all expenses incurred by the Government of India.

For Appearing Candidates: Final-year Class 12 students can apply. However, candidates appearing in Class 11 are NOT eligible. Candidates who qualify SSB but have not produced the 10+2 certificate must submit duly self-attested photocopies to the respective Army/Naval HQ by 10 June 2027, failing which candidature will be cancelled. Certificates issued by Principals (where Boards/Universities have not yet issued certificates) are acceptable; however, certified photostat copies are not accepted.
A candidate must be unmarried and satisfy one of the following nationality conditions:
A Citizen of India, or
A Subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or
A Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
A Person of Indian Origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, or East African countries (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia) or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India
Note: Candidates from categories other than Indian Citizens must possess a Certificate of Eligibility issued by the Government of India. Gorkha subjects of Nepal are exempted from this requirement. Candidates debarred by the Ministry of Defence from holding any Commission in Defence Services are not eligible to apply.
The NDA 2 2026 written exam will be conducted across 86 centres in India. Candidates should apply early, as centre allotment is done on a "first-apply-first-allot" basis — once a centre reaches capacity, it is frozen and no further allotments are made to that centre.
Key exam centre rule: Candidates appearing at any venue other than the one mentioned on their e-Admit Card will not be permitted to take the examination. Centre once allotted cannot be changed.

Stage 1 – Written Examination: Held on 13 September 2026. Two papers: Mathematics (300 marks, 120 questions) and General Ability Test (600 marks, 150 questions), each of 2.5 hours duration. Negative marking applies.
Stage 2 – SSB Interview: Conducted at Services Selection Boards (SSB) for candidates who qualify the written exam. SSB Interview for NDA 2 2026 is scheduled during December 2026 – January 2027. The SSB interview tests intelligence and personality over five days.
Stage 3 – Medical Examination: All SSB-recommended candidates undergo a medical examination. Final selection is based on merit in the combined written + SSB score, subject to medical fitness.
